Sara Norris Ltd. is a design house specializing in beautiful things for a baby's clothing layette and children's special occasion wear. Sara has 25 years experience in designing and sewing for her clientele as well as her own children and now, her grandchildren. Her work has been featured in Sew Beautiful magazine.
Sara believes that every child is a special gift from God, and that because the days of infancy and childhood are so fleeting, they should be celebrated with beautiful clothes.
From the earliest of days, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and friends have made preparations for a new baby by sewing beautiful garments, each one lovingly stitched and embellished with embroidery or ribbons, in anticipation of the little one who would be wearing it. Sara strives to carry on this tradition by designing and creating clothing stitched by the time honored techniques of French sewing.
A special daygown, home from the hospital set, a finely stitched cap or bonnet, or a lovely monogrammed blanket are all special for the first portrait, or any of the many "firsts" that baby will have. These tiny bits of confection are shared with future babies and eventually become treasured heirlooms.
As many of the sacred occasions of our lives are symbolized by a long white gown, the christening or dedication gown becomes, perhaps, one of the most treasured items in baby's layette.
In addition to clothing of the more traditional flavor, Sara also creates fresh designs with an "of the moment" look and feel.
A passionate artist with needle and thread, Sara will create a masterpiece for your child .
